First-of-its-Kind trial aims to stop sickness at the tap for millions of well water users
NCT ID NCT04258059
Summary
This study tested whether installing an ultraviolet (UV) light water treatment system in homes with private wells could reduce stomach bugs and respiratory infections in children under 5. Researchers compared families using treated water to those using untreated well water. They tracked children's symptoms through weekly text messages to see if the UV filter made them sick less often.
