New hope for transplant patients battling weight gain
NCT ID NCT07423247
Summary
This study is testing whether a weight loss medication called tirzepatide (brand name Spartina) is safe and helpful for people who are obese after receiving a kidney transplant. The researchers want to see if the drug helps with weight loss without causing serious stomach side effects or harming the transplanted kidney. About 30 participants will receive weekly injections for 24 weeks while doctors monitor their weight, kidney function, and any side effects.
