First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated Apr 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested a special app called WayFinder Ride designed to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) request rides from Uber or Lyft. Sixty adults with IDD tried both the new app and the regular Uber/Lyft apps to see which was easier to use. Researchers tracked mistakes and how much help was needed, aiming to show that the new app reduces errors and improves independence.
