Could a simple hand soak replace complex tests for nerve pain?
NCT ID NCT07255573
Summary
This study tested whether a simple, low-cost test could help diagnose small-fiber neuropathy, a condition that causes pain and other nerve-related symptoms. Researchers had 38 adults with suspected nerve issues soak their hands in warm water for 15 minutes to see how much their fingertips wrinkled. They compared the wrinkling results to standard doctor assessments to see if the water test was accurate.
