Water vs. air: which colonoscopy technique causes fewer painful loops?

NCT ID NCT07245173

First seen Dec 02, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study compares two common colonoscopy methods—water infusion and air insufflation—to see which one causes fewer loops in the colon. Loops can make the procedure harder, more painful, and longer. About 142 adults getting routine colon cancer screening will take part, and reviewers will analyze videos to count loops and measure comfort and sedation needs.
