Can drinking water keep your blood pressure up? study tests if the effect wears off

NCT ID NCT00580996

Summary

This study aims to understand if drinking water helps raise blood pressure in people with orthostatic hypotension, a condition causing dizziness upon standing. Researchers are testing whether the blood pressure benefit from water diminishes if a person drinks more water a few hours later. The small, 20-person study involves participants drinking different amounts of water over two days while their blood pressure and heart rate are monitored.
