First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 37 times

Summary

This study aims to find out if the body can store sodium (salt) without holding onto extra water, and whether this stored sodium is inside or outside cells. Researchers will study 10 adults on peritoneal dialysis who also have heart failure. Over 5 days, they will measure how much water-free sodium is removed during dialysis to understand this hidden salt storage.
