One-Stop heart fix: study tests doing two procedures at once for common heart conditions
NCT ID NCT04494347
First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested if it's safe and possible to do two heart procedures at the same time for people with atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) and a severe leaky mitral valve. 25 participants received both a MitraClip to fix the valve and a Watchman device to prevent strokes from blood clots. The goal was to see if combining them is feasible, not to cure the conditions, as patients still need ongoing care.
