Sewage science used to nudge new yorkers toward COVID boosters

NCT ID NCT05766189

Summary

This study tested whether a public information campaign using local wastewater virus data could encourage more people to get COVID-19 booster shots. Researchers compared vaccination rates in two New York counties that received the campaign against similar counties that did not. The goal was to see if showing people real-time, local virus levels in their community's wastewater would motivate them to get vaccinated.
