Do warning labels help or harm? new study tests food labels on eating disorder patients

NCT ID NCT07339969

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how different front-of-pack nutrition labels—warning labels versus traffic light labels—affect food choices and negative emotions in people with eating disorders. Around 246 UK adults with a current or past eating disorder will make hypothetical food choices online. The goal is to see which labeling system leads to healthier choices without causing emotional distress.
