Warm blankets in surgery: can they stop shivering and help newborns?
NCT ID NCT04667000
Summary
This study tested whether using warm air blankets on different parts of the body during a planned C-section could help prevent the mother from getting too cold and shivering. It also looked at whether this warming affected the baby's initial health scores and the mother's comfort and breastfeeding start time. Thirty-five women having planned C-sections were randomly assigned to have their legs, arms, or whole body warmed, or to receive no extra warming.
