Warm fluids vs. cold: a simple trick to protect patients in surgery

NCT ID NCT07192224

Summary

This study tested if warming the fluids given through an IV during surgery helps prevent hypothermia, a dangerous drop in body temperature. Researchers compared two groups of adults having laparoscopic gastrointestinal cancer surgery: one received warmed fluids, the other received fluids at room temperature. The goal was to see if the warmer fluids were better at keeping patients' body temperatures stable.
