Can emails get you walking? study tests digital nudges for inactive adults

NCT ID NCT05980676

Summary

This study tested whether simple digital tools could help inactive people start a regular walking habit. About 150 adults who walked less than 5,000 steps a day were split into groups. Some received personalized walking plans via email, some got those plans plus email coaching, and a control group was just told they could walk on their own. Researchers measured if these approaches increased daily step counts and made walking feel more automatic after one month.
