Could your cane or walker be causing hand pain?
NCT ID NCT06186284
Summary
This study looked at whether using walking aids like canes or walkers during rehabilitation might increase the risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition causing hand numbness and pain. Researchers followed 30 adult patients who were new to using walking aids during their rehab stay. They measured hand symptoms, nerve function, and nerve size before and after one month of using the aids to see if pressure from the devices caused changes.
