First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is expanding a mobile food pantry that delivers fresh and traditional foods to Wabanaki communities in Maine. Researchers want to see if better access to these foods can improve food security and health-related quality of life. About 500 adults who are members of a Wabanaki community will take part. The program is community-led and focuses on cultural connection and food sovereignty.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that culturally tailored food programs reduce food insecurity and improve health in Indigenous communities.
What could go wrong
