Zapping heart trouble without surgery: new trial tests Non-Invasive radiation

NCT ID NCT05047198

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests if a non-invasive radiation treatment (radio-ablation) works as well as the standard catheter procedure for controlling ventricular tachycardia, a dangerous fast heartbeat. About 244 adults with heart disease and an implanted defibrillator will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The goal is to see which approach better prevents death, shocks from the defibrillator, or further heart rhythm problems.
