Virtual reality vs. sensory rooms: which helps anxious kids at the dentist?
NCT ID NCT07261670
Summary
This study tested two methods to help children with borderline intellectual functioning and moderate dental anxiety get through a dental filling. Researchers compared using a virtual reality headset to creating a calm, sensory-adapted room in the dental office. The main goal was to see which method helped more children successfully complete their dental procedure within 30 minutes.
