First seen Dec 26, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested two ways to help children aged 10-13 with borderline intellectual functioning feel less anxious during dental treatment. One group used a virtual reality headset, while the other experienced a sensory-adapted dental environment with dimmed lights and calming sounds. The goal was to see if either approach helped them complete a filling within 30 minutes. The study involved 98 participants and has already been completed.
