Summary

This study tested whether virtual reality (VR) or mixed reality (MR) headsets could help children aged 6 to 12 feel less anxious and experience less pain during dental numbing shots. 142 healthy children were randomly assigned to use either a VR or MR headset while getting local anesthesia. Researchers measured anxiety and pain using standard scales to see which technology worked better for calming kids during dental procedures.
