Doctors-in-Training to practice shock therapy in virtual reality

NCT ID NCT07350278

Summary

This study aims to see if learning to perform electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) using a virtual reality (VR) simulator is just as good as practicing on a traditional medical mannequin. Researchers will enroll 78 medical students with no prior ECT training. Students will be randomly assigned to practice with either the VR simulator or the mannequin, and their skills will be tested before and after the training session to compare the two teaching methods.
