First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at whether virtual reality (VR) can train medical students to give electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) just as well as using a mannequin. About 78 medical students who have never learned ECT before will be randomly assigned to practice with either VR or a mannequin. Their skills and confidence will be tested before and after training to see if VR is a good alternative.
