First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study compares virtual reality (VR) training to traditional mannequin-based training for medical students learning how to perform electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). About 78 medical students who have never received formal ECT training will be randomly assigned to practice with either a VR simulation or a mannequin. The goal is to see if VR is just as effective at teaching ECT skills.
