First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested if virtual reality (VR) training could help junior doctors in Zambia improve their skills for a life-saving surgery called postpartum hysterectomy. 33 doctors were randomly assigned to either a 9-day VR training program or standard training. The VR group showed bigger improvements in surgical knowledge, confidence, and hands-on skills, suggesting VR could be a powerful tool to train surgeons in places with limited resources.
