Video games fight Post-Surgery brain fog in seniors

NCT ID NCT07370844

Summary

This study is testing whether playing virtual reality (VR) brain-training games before surgery can help protect memory and thinking skills in older adults who have a common brain vessel disease. Researchers want to see if this fun, tech-based approach can reduce confusion and cognitive decline after routine operations like hip replacements or gallbladder surgery. The goal is to find a simple way to help elderly patients recover their mental sharpness faster and avoid long-term problems.
