Nursing students train with VR headsets to master IV skills

NCT ID NCT07503392

Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) headsets could help nursing students learn how to insert intravenous (IV) catheters better than traditional teaching methods. Researchers compared the skills, perceived learning, and motivation of 48 first-year nursing students who were randomly assigned to either VR-enhanced training or standard training. The goal was to see if this new technology could provide a safe, effective way for students to practice a critical clinical skill before working with real patients.
