Virtual reality headsets used to fight schizophrenia symptoms
NCT ID NCT06993831
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether a new virtual reality (VR) therapy could help reduce the negative symptoms of schizophrenia, like lack of motivation and social withdrawal. Thirty participants with schizophrenia were assigned to receive either 10 sessions of the VR therapy or their usual psychiatric care. The main goal was to see if the VR treatment was practical and acceptable, and to check for early signs that it might improve symptoms and daily functioning.
