VR headsets in the ICU: a new tool to heal the mind after critical illness

NCT ID NCT06267911

Summary

This study is testing a special virtual reality (VR) program designed to help patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). The program aims to provide mental exercises and emotional support to make the ICU stay more comfortable and to improve patients' memory, thinking skills, and mental health up to a year after they go home. Researchers are comparing the VR therapy, used alongside standard hospital care, to standard care alone in about 93 adults recovering from serious conditions like respiratory failure.
