Virtual reality shows promise in helping children with autism

NCT ID NCT07330219

Summary

This study tested whether adding fully immersive virtual reality technology to standard psychological and behavioral therapy could help children with autism spectrum disorder. Researchers looked back at medical records of 120 children aged 2-12 who received either standard therapy alone or standard therapy plus virtual reality sessions. They measured changes in autism symptoms, problem behaviors, and developmental skills over 12 weeks to see if the virtual reality combination worked better.
