Surgeons use VR headsets to map and remove lung cancer

NCT ID NCT06638125

Summary

This study is testing a new surgical technique for early-stage lung cancer. Surgeons will use a 3D virtual reality model of the patient's lungs, created from their scans, to plan and practice a precise, less invasive surgery to remove only the cancerous segment of the lung. The goal is to make this complex surgery safer, more successful, and easier for surgeons to learn, potentially benefiting thousands of patients each year.
