VR escape: 15-Minute virtual nature break fights student burnout
NCT ID NCT07447310
Summary
This study tested whether watching immersive nature scenes through a VR headset could help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression in medical students. Researchers compared the relaxing effects of a familiar local Malaysian nature scene versus a novel overseas scene. Over 80 students participated, using the VR headsets for 15 minutes in two sessions two weeks apart to see if the brief virtual escape provided measurable mental health benefits.
