VR hypnosis headset aims to calm nerves before surgery

Summary

This study is testing whether a virtual reality hypnosis session can help reduce anxiety in people about to have outpatient carpal tunnel surgery. It will involve 60 patients who are having this surgery for the first time. Researchers will measure anxiety levels before and after patients use a special VR headset designed for medical hypnosis.
