Scientists test VR gardens to lift spirits of elderly

NCT ID NCT07275034

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether a virtual reality (VR) gardening program can help improve mood and reduce symptoms in older adults with mild, early-stage depression. Researchers will compare the VR program to a control group to see if this immersive, interactive activity can ease depressive feelings. The goal is to find a low-risk, engaging way to support mental health in seniors before depression becomes more serious.
