VR headset calms nerves before thyroid cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT04481893
Summary
This study tested whether using a virtual reality headset with a calming hypnosis program could help reduce anxiety in patients before they had their thyroid removed. It involved 82 adults scheduled for total thyroidectomy, often for thyroid cancer. Researchers measured changes in anxiety levels before and after the VR session to see if it helped patients feel calmer.
