VR headsets may calm nerves before surgery

NCT ID NCT07483866

Summary

This study is testing whether a virtual reality (VR) educational program can help patients feel less anxious and experience less pain around the time of hip or knee replacement surgery. It will compare 200 patients who receive the VR program plus standard care to patients who receive standard care with a regular educational video. Researchers will measure anxiety, pain, and heart rate before and after surgery to see if the VR experience makes a difference.
