VR goggles vs. surgery jitters: can tech calm Pre-Op fear?
NCT ID NCT07443111
Summary
This study is testing if using virtual reality (VR) to teach patients about their upcoming back surgery works better than standard education at reducing anxiety. Researchers will compare two groups: one gets a VR tour of the surgery process, the other gets routine information. They will measure anxiety using questionnaires and by checking levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, in saliva.
