Goggles for calm: VR tested to ease surgery fears

NCT ID NCT07379450

Summary

This study is testing whether watching special virtual reality (VR) videos can help reduce anxiety in adults waiting for planned surgery. Researchers will compare two types of VR videos—one educational and one for distraction—against the usual pre-surgery care. They aim to see if VR can lower anxiety, improve life satisfaction, and affect physical signs like heart rate.
