Virtual worlds fight real pain in sickle cell trial
NCT ID NCT03353584
Summary
This study is testing whether adding virtual reality (VR) to standard pain treatment helps children and young adults with sickle cell disease during painful crises. Participants receive either standard care alone or standard care plus a 15-minute VR session designed to distract from pain. Researchers will compare pain scores and medication use between the two groups to see if VR provides additional relief.
