First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated Apr 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study is testing whether using a virtual reality (VR) headset can help reduce pain and anxiety for patients having chest tubes removed after open-heart surgery. The research will involve 60 patients, with half using VR as a distraction during the procedure and half receiving standard care. The goal is to see if this non-drug method makes the uncomfortable tube removal process easier for patients.
