Virtual reality games tested to help stroke survivors walk better

NCT ID NCT07409116

Summary

This study tested whether adding virtual reality (VR) balance games to standard physical therapy could help people recovering from a stroke walk more steadily and improve their balance. Thirty-four patients were split into two groups: one received only standard therapy, while the other replaced some standard therapy time with VR exercises wearing a headset. Researchers measured walking speed, distance, and balance before and after the two-week program to see if the VR group showed greater improvement.
