First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether a vaccine called VPM1002, based on the old tuberculosis vaccine BCG, could reduce sick days in healthcare workers exposed to COVID-19. About 59 hospital staff received either the vaccine or a placebo. The goal was to see if the vaccine could boost the immune system and lower absences due to respiratory illness, including COVID-19.
