New test could spare heartburn patients uncomfortable procedures
NCT ID NCT07437768
Summary
This study is testing if a stronger acid-blocking medicine called Vonoprazan can help doctors figure out why some people's heartburn and reflux symptoms don't get better with standard treatments. Researchers will give the medicine to 100 adults whose symptoms persist despite taking common acid reducers for at least 8 weeks. The goal is to see if a patient's response to this stronger medicine can help diagnose the cause of their symptoms, potentially avoiding more invasive tests.
