NCT ID NCT07267260
First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether vonoprazan, a medicine that reduces stomach acid, can prevent ulcers that sometimes form after a procedure called endoscopic variceal band ligation (EVBL) in people with liver cirrhosis. About 154 adults will take either vonoprazan or a placebo daily for 14 days after EVBL. Researchers will then check for ulcers and ask about pain or swallowing trouble to see if the drug helps recovery.
