Talk your way to recovery: Voice-Controlled robot arm therapy shows promise for stroke patients

NCT ID NCT07398131

First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to help stroke survivors regain arm movement. Instead of a robot moving the arm passively, patients will say a command like 'bend arm' to trigger the robot while also imagining the movement. The goal is to see if this active, voice-driven approach boosts brain-to-muscle signals and improves recovery better than standard robotic therapy. About 32 adults who had a stroke at least a month ago and have moderate to severe arm weakness will take part.
