Better throat scope could catch nerve damage sooner after surgery
NCT ID NCT07277985
Summary
This study tested two different medical scopes used to look at the vocal cords right after thyroid surgery. Doctors wanted to see if a newer video scope is better than the traditional scope at checking for early nerve damage that can affect the voice. The study involved 102 patients who were randomly assigned to have their surgery with one of the two scopes, and then their vocal cord movement was carefully checked.
