Your voice could be the next vital sign: 5-Year study launches
NCT ID NCT07665229
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study will follow 3700 adults in Luxembourg for 5 years to see if voice recordings can detect health conditions like diabetes, fatigue, and mental health issues. Participants will provide voice samples at hospitals and via a smartphone app. The goal is to develop vocal biomarkers for remote disease monitoring and screening.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a simple voice test to screen for or monitor diseases like diabetes and mental health issues.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage observational study, not a treatment trial. It may not find reliable voice patterns, and results may not apply to other populations.
