Home workouts could help seniors fight frailty

NCT ID NCT07436715

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a 12-week home exercise program called Vivifrail in 86 frail or pre-frail adults aged 70 and older. Participants do strength, balance, and walking exercises five days a week. Researchers will measure changes in mobility, fall risk, and overall function to see if the program helps seniors stay independent.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Vivifrail multicomponent physical exercise program (home-based strength, balance, flexibility, and aerobic training)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, home-based exercise plan to help older adults stay stronger, more mobile, and less frail.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early study with no comparison group, so results may not be definitive. Participants must stick to a 5-day/week routine, which may be hard for some.
