New hope for rare artery disease: drug combo trial launches

Summary
This study tests two new drugs, vunakizumab and ivarmacitinib, to control active Takayasu's arteritis, a rare disease that inflames blood vessels. About 180 adults with active disease despite standard treatment will receive these drugs plus steroids. The goal is to see if more patients achieve disease remission at 52 weeks compared to steroids alone.
