NCT ID NCT06515548

First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether a vitamin D mouthwash can help remineralize (strengthen) weak teeth in children with molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH), a condition that causes soft, discolored enamel. Thirty-two children used either a vitamin D or placebo mouthwash, and researchers measured tooth strength, plaque buildup, and gum health. The goal was to see if vitamin D could improve oral hygiene and reduce gum bleeding compared to a placebo.
