Simple vitamin pill could block debilitating pain syndrome
NCT ID NCT05842395
Summary
This study tested whether taking a daily vitamin C pill could prevent a severe, long-term pain condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) from developing after a broken wrist. 220 adults with wrist fractures in Syria were randomly assigned to take either vitamin C or a placebo pill daily for 90 days. Researchers then checked for signs of CRPS over the following year to see if the vitamin made a difference.
