First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving free glasses to older adults in rural areas can help slow down memory and thinking problems. About 964 people aged 60-79 with poor eyesight but normal hearing and thinking will take part. Half will get glasses to fix their vision, and the other half will not. Researchers will check their thinking skills over 3 years to see if the glasses make a difference.
