First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding a special hands-on therapy for the internal organs (visceral osteopathic manual therapy) to standard physical therapy could improve life for people with long-term lower back pain from a herniated disc. Forty adults with chronic lumbar disc herniation took part. The researchers measured pain, quality of life, and disability to see if the extra therapy made a difference.
